Hi, I'm sooooooo sorry about your loss. I'm writting a essay on the affects alcoholism has on one's life. May God Bless you and your family.

I was reading the blog today about the outcome of Elvia Diaz's case and the fact she an emergency medical technician. She really was ignorant about the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol which I am sure she had many times before decided to drive drunk herself that night and took beautiful Rachel's life. It's all over everywhere on TV, movie theaters before a show before holidays mostly aimed at the younger audiences, and the internet. I always have a plan when want to go out with friends and need to drive. I would rather look silly ordering a cherry Coke over alcoholic beverages and killing someone. I often get silly looks when I go to clubs and order sodas or coffee but I don't care what the bartenders think or the people I go with. The consequences are much worse than a few minutes of looking goofy.

This story brought tears to my eyes. I have fortunatly never lost anyone to drunk driving but i do have many people in my life that i pray for everyday, because i know that a tragedy like this can happen in an instant, and it is and unforgivable mistake. I wish the best for you and your family and may she rest in peace.

This story has touched my heart, along with very many other people. I am sorry for the loss of the loved one. I am doing a research paper for my english class, and my topic is drunk driving. I am trying to get the point across that it is very wrong and people should do more to cease the issue. I came across this story and Im going to mention it in my paper. I dont see how anyone couldnt be touched by this. Once again I am very sorry for your loss. I will pray for your family, but I will also pray for the woman that did this to your daughter and family. I pray she has the strengh to learn from her mistakes. your family has the love from me and Jesus! God bless your family.

I am writing a research paper on an issue of my choosing. I chose drunk driving and ways to prevent it because I understand how big of an issue it is.

I came by this site by accident. I was looking up an author with the same name as Rachel. I'm truly sorry for your loss. I know no words could ever bring her back but I hope the family grows strong and forward. I was also involved in a card accident but it wasn't by a drunk driver, he was just careless and luckily my brother and I got with minimal injuries. Like others, I will keep you and your family in my prayers and just know that Rachel will be looking over you always.

I was recently in a vehicle accident due to drunk driving. My ex-boyfriend was driving impaired and me, my best friend, my cousin, and another friend were in the vehicle. Luckily, none of us passed. But i am left with serious injuries and scars that I will have to live with for the rest of my life. Im soo sorry to hear about your loss. It is a true tragedy. More needs to be done about teen drinking and driving. The court systems are not that strict. My ex who reached legal limit only got his license taken away for two months! As a victim of drinking and driving I want to protect others from it. Cause I know how it feels, how it cuts emotionally and mentally. I am so sorry to hear your story. I send prayers to your family. Rest in peace

My name is carlos and my brother was hit by a drunk driver. He was coming home from work and he just bought a truck but the drunk driver was driving on the wrong side of the freeway. The calls were made to the police and took them for ever to get to the drunk instead of showing up my brother was hit by him. My brother almost pasted away he was dead at the secne but was brought back. My prayers go out to Rachel as i do understand how this hurts and I want to stop people from drinking and driving and i understand how hurt the family would be since I have a daughter of my own. Im sorry and i know sorry is just a word and cant bring anyone back. Sorry for you lost Carlos

My family and I live up the street where this horrible tragedy occured. Everyday, and I mean every day we say a prayer for Rachel and her family as we drive by her memorial. We have two daughters, and I can't even attempt to imagine the pain your entire family goes through. I am glad that justice has finally been served, and you can now rest in peace

This is a very sad story. My boyfriend and I once went to visit a few friends of ours. Basically, my boyfriend was drunk but we didnt think that our friends were that drunk so they said that they would drive us home. I couldn't drive at all so I didn't want to take any risks, and because their home is far up north, there is hardly any taxi or bus service around. i was extremely tired I fell asleep in the car. I woke up to a loud noise and found that we crashed into a pole, causing both my friends to die. My boyfriend and I survived, but both with bad injuries. He had lost his leg and had multiple wounds on his chest and back. I on the other hand lost our baby and encountered several
